In 2015 there was a surge of distressing xenophobic activity in South Africa, which greatly disturbed me and my family. I applied to a call-to-action and developed a series of posters in accordance with the brief of “unity and equality”. I thoroughly enjoyed the combination of creative expression, civil impact and social responsibility. Whilst I knew a poster couldn’t stop the problem, it felt important and pertinent to be engaging in the social discourse surrounding this pressing social issue, helping to push the needle in my own, small way. In addition, I used the ‘MeEyeWeYou’ execution from the WDC 2014 - Stamp Submission as a once off addition to the project.
